Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Georgios Kotsiras was born in 1984. He was elected as a Member of Parliament for Western Attica with the New Democracy party in 2019. From January 2021 to May 2023, he served as Deputy Minister of Justice, responsible for International Cooperation and Human Rights Issues. From June 2023 to March 2025 he served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. He is a graduate and holds a Doctoral Degree from the School of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, specializing in European Law, Competition Law, State Aid, Business Law, and Administrative Law. He also holds two postgraduate degrees – from the Law School of Athens and from Aix-Marseille III University “Paul Cézanne” in France. He has practiced law and was a Greek tennis champion. He speaks English and French.
